TubeDigest is a Chrome extension that summarizes YouTube videos and generates flashcards. We respect your privacy and are committed to transparency about our data practices.

Data We Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers.

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API:

• Daily usage count (resets each day)
• Summary history (video titles and summaries you generate)
• Premium subscription status

YouTube Data

TubeDigest accesses YouTube video captions/transcripts to generate summaries and flashcards. This data is:

• Processed entirely on your device (locally in your browser)
• Never sent to any external server
• Never shared with third parties

Third-Party Services

If you choose to upgrade to Pro, payment is processed by Lemon Squeezy (our payment provider). Their privacy policy governs payment data handling. We never see or store your credit card information.

Permissions

TubeDigest requests the following Chrome permissions:

• storage: To save your settings and summary history locally
• activeTab: To interact with the current YouTube tab
• alarms: To reset daily usage counters
• host_permissions (youtube.com): To read video captions and inject the summary interface

Data Retention

All data is stored locally and can be cleared by:

• Uninstalling the extension
• Clearing your browser data

Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
